Actor Stanley Says He Almost Faced Arrest After Regina Daniels Return to Nwoko Home

Nollywood actor, Stanley Ajemba, known as Stanley Ontop, says he almost went to prison for backing Regina Daniels in her public split from Senator Ned Nwoko, and that he now feels used after she was filmed at the senator’s house.

Stanley said he posted the first video that showed her in distress at the property and that police in Maitama looked for him. He said activists and blogs he pulled into the fight are now angry because he promised them she would not go back. He cried, he said. He looked like a fool.

A livestream last week showed Daniels at the house. Her sister Destiny said she went to see her children, not to resume the marriage. Stanley rejected that. He said her manner in the clip did not look like a brief visit and that, as far as he was concerned, she had settled with a man he still calls her oppressor. He added that he did not consent to any reunion and would not put his mouth in a husband-and-wife matter again.

Nwoko said months ago that he would not take her back as a wife. Neither he nor Daniels has issued a joint statement describing the latest visit. What exists is a camera in a compound, a sister’s explanation, and a friend who turned a private crisis into a public campaign.

That is the uncomfortable centre of the story. People who take a side in someone else’s marriage often treat the side as a contract. The couple can still choose a door the campaign did not vote for children, quiet, even reconciliation. Stanley is describing the cost of that choice to the people who spent their names on the other version.

Daniels has not answered him in public. Until she does, his video is anger, not a court finding.
