Notorious Bandit Kingpin, Kachallah Auwalu Killed in Rival Gang Clash
A well-known bandit leader, Kachallah Auwalu, has been killed in a violent clash between rival armed groups in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
The incident happened on April 18 at about 4:35pm in the Maganda area. Reports say the fighting broke out due to ongoing internal conflicts among different bandit factions in the region.
The clash was fierce and may still be continuing. Another faction led by Dogo Gyde is reported to be moving towards the scene, raising fears of more violence and possible additional casualties. Local residents are worried as the situation remains tense.
Security forces have been placed on high alert. Troops are intensifying surveillance operations to contain the fighting and prevent it from spreading to nearby communities. The military is closely monitoring the area to restore calm as quickly as possible.
Kachallah Auwalu was considered a major figure among bandit groups operating in parts of Kaduna and surrounding states.
His death in this internal rivalry is seen by many as a significant blow to one faction, though it also highlights the deep divisions and power struggles within these criminal networks.
This latest development brings some relief to communities that have suffered from bandit activities for years. However, security agencies remain vigilant as the rival groups continue to fight for control. Many residents hope the clash will weaken the bandits overall and lead to better peace in the troubled region.
