Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi has officially launched five-year Local Government Development Plans covering the period from 2025 to 2030.

The plans were presented for all 27 Local Government Areas in the state during a formal ceremony attended by key government officials and stakeholders.

The initiative is designed to strengthen governance at the grassroots level, improve accountability, and enhance the quality of service delivery to residents across the state. Governor Namadi said the documents will serve as a clear guide for how local governments plan, budget, and implement projects in the coming years.

According to the governor, the plans are fully aligned with the state’s 12-point agenda, the Comprehensive Development Framework, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This alignment is expected to ensure that development efforts at the local level support broader state and national priorities.

The new framework provides a structured roadmap for investment and project execution. Officials believe it will help local governments prioritise the needs of their communities, attract funding, and track progress more effectively over the five-year period.

The launch marks an important step toward improving coordination between the state and local governments. Residents and stakeholders are hopeful that the plans will lead to more transparent and impactful development across Jigawa State in the years ahead.
