The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has told Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to prepare for defeat in the upcoming governorship election, asserting that Adeleke’s political endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from reclaiming the state.

Oyetola made the declaration while addressing APC leaders and supporters in Osun State ahead of the August 15 off-cycle gubernatorial poll.

Responding to allegations raised by Governor Adeleke that the APC was intimidating members and figures of the Accord Party, Oyetola argued that the governor’s complaints signal a realization that he is losing ground among voters.

Dismissing Adeleke’s political strategy, Oyetola stated that declaring support for President Tinubu would not save the governor’s administration from being unseated at the polls by the APC standard-bearer, Bola Oyebamiji.

Oyetola further rejected claims of harassment made by Adeleke’s campaign team, asserting that the APC remains focused on winning the election through popular support rather than engaging in unnecessary public exchanges.
