Economic Reforms Yet to Fully Benefit Businesses, Says NECA
The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) has said that the current economic reforms introduced by the Federal Government have not yet fully benefited businesses in the country.
According to the association, many companies are still struggling despite the reforms aimed at improving the economy. This statement reflects the challenges faced by the private sector.
NECA noted that while some positive changes have been observed, the impact on businesses remains limited. Many companies continue to deal with high operating costs, unstable exchange rates, and difficulties in accessing credit.
The employers’ body called for more practical measures to ease the burden on businesses and support economic growth.
The association emphasised the need for the government to address key issues such as power supply, multiple taxation, and inflation. These factors, according to NECA, are making it hard for businesses to expand and create more jobs. They urged faster implementation of policies that can directly support the private sector.
This position by NECA comes at a time when many Nigerians are feeling the effects of economic hardship. Business owners and investors are hoping for quicker results from the ongoing reforms. The feedback from employers is seen as important for the government to adjust its strategies where necessary.
Many expect stronger collaboration between the government and the private sector. NECA’s call highlights the need for reforms that deliver real and timely benefits to businesses. This will be key to achieving sustainable economic recovery and creating opportunities for citizens.
