Police Arrest Six Suspects in Ondo Over N71 Million Alleged Fraud
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested six men in connection with a major fraud involving heavy-duty vehicles worth over N71 million.
The suspects were tracked down and arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, following a complaint from a victim in Ondo town. This breakthrough was achieved through intelligence-led investigation by the command.
The principal suspect, Adeola Kolawole, allegedly sold three vehicles, a low-loader truck, a tipper truck, and a small truck that were entrusted to him without the owner’s permission.
The other suspects, Alhaji Gani Bello, Oladoja Akeem, Wasiu Adigun, Azeez Yusuf, and Ojo Mudasiru are accused of playing different roles in the illegal transaction. All six have reportedly made confessional statements.
The victim, Mr. Paul Aderemi from Ayegunle Street in Ondo town, reported the matter to the police after discovering that the vehicles he purchased in May 2025 had been sold without his knowledge. The case has now become a major fraud investigation, with the police working to recover the vehicles.
This arrest highlights the efforts of the Ondo State Police Command to tackle fraudulent activities in the state. The command has appealed to the public to continue providing useful information to help fight crime. The suspects will be charged in court after investigations are completed.
