Troops Rescue 10 Kidnap Victims During Operation in Katsina

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued 10 persons abducted by armed criminals during a security operation in Katsina State.

The victims were freed following a swift response by troops after reports emerged that residents of Unguwan Daudu and Unguwan Chibauna communities in Funtua Local Government Area had been kidnapped by gunmen.

Security personnel deployed to the Sabuwa axis reportedly tracked the fleeing attackers and launched an operation that led to the successful rescue of the captives.

Military sources said the operation was driven by actionable intelligence, enabling troops to move quickly and prevent the abductors from taking the victims deeper into the forest.

The rescued individuals were taken to safety and are expected to receive necessary medical attention and support following their ordeal.

The latest rescue forms part of ongoing efforts by security forces to combat kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities across the North-West region. Authorities have pledged to sustain intelligence-led operations aimed at protecting communities and securing the release of victims held by criminal groups.
