Liverpool Held 2-2 by Nottingham Forest at Anfield
Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday as Andoni Iraola waited for his first win as Reds manager.
Forest took the lead in the 24th minute when Dan Ndoye finished from Morgan Gibbs-White’s assist. Liverpool thought they had levelled before half-time, but a Florian Wirtz effort was ruled out for offside.
Alexander Isak equalised in the 60th minute, tapping in Cody Gakpo’s low cross. Forest went back in front ten minutes later when Gibbs-White scored from the penalty spot after Alisson brought down Neco Williams.
Summer signing Víctor Muñoz rescued a point in the 82nd minute, finishing from Wirtz’s pass on his home debut. Liverpool have now drawn both of Iraola’s opening Premier League matches 2-2.
Forest remain unbeaten in their last three visits to Anfield. The result leaves Liverpool with two points from two league games.
