Nigerians in the United Kingdom have launched a GoFundMe campaign to provide financial support to the family of 36-year-old Mayowa Emmanuel, who died after a battle with cancer.

Emmanuel died on Saturday, August 22, 2026, leaving behind his wife, young son, parents, friends and members of the Nigerian community in the UK.

The founder of the Nigerians in the UK Community, Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as Oluomo of Derby, announced the death in a condolence message shared on his X handle on Thursday.

Kuti described Emmanuel as a devoted husband, loving son and caring father, while appealing to members of the Nigerian community to support his family financially and emotionally.

He said Emmanuel’s death at a young age had left his relatives, friends and acquaintances devastated.

Kuti urged Nigerians in the UK to contribute towards easing the family’s financial burden, stressing that even small donations could make a difference during the difficult period.

Meanwhile, UK-based digital marketer, Sam Edoho, confirmed on Facebook that a GoFundMe fundraiser had been established to assist Emmanuel’s wife, son and other members of his family.

Edoho appealed to Nigerians and other members of the public to contribute what they could and help spread awareness of the fundraiser.

He also expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family and prayed for strength and comfort for them as they cope with the loss.
