Adebutu Calls for Vocational Training, Funding to Tackle Youth Unemployment

Ogun State PDP governorship candidate, Ladi Adebutu has said vocational training, mentorship and affordable funding were essential to reducing youth unemployment in Nigeria.

Adebutu made the call on Tuesday while speaking at the 5th anniversary of the Agbaletu Progressive Movement held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.

The event included the empowerment of about 100 young people through vocational training and educational support.

He stressed the need for government, individuals and philanthropic organisations to equip young people with practical skills and provide them with access to capital. According to him, affordable and accessible funding is particularly important for young entrepreneurs and small business owners to start, expand and sustain their enterprises.

Adebutu noted that investing in the youth remains key to stimulating economic growth and creating sustainable jobs.

He urged stakeholders to create an environment where viable businesses can thrive, arguing that this approach would significantly reduce unemployment and drive broader development in the state and beyond.
