Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has inaugurated a 600-member African Democratic Congress (ADC) Campaign Council in Kebbi State.

The event also saw the unveiling of the Director-General of the council.

The inauguration took place on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi and marked the start of intensified political mobilisation across the state’s 21 local government areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Malami said the council was deliberately constituted to reflect the diversity of Kebbi, drawing members from different communities, local government areas and senatorial districts.

He described it as a coordinated grassroots structure designed to support all ADC candidates rather than any single aspirant.

He specifically acknowledged the party’s senatorial candidates ,General Aminu Bande for Kebbi Central, Garba Maidoki for Kebbi South, and Alhaji Mera for Kebbi North as well as candidates for the House of Representatives and State House of Assembly.

Malami charged the council members to prioritise unity, reconciliation and issue-based politics. He urged them to mobilise support at the community, ward and polling unit levels while working as one political family to advance the party’s collective goals in the state.
