Trump Alleges Iran Killed Protesters, Criticises Failing Economy

US President, Donald Trump has accused Iran of killing many protesters and treating its people very badly.

Speaking in an interview with Al Jazeera, he said the Iranian authorities are “killing many, many protesters” and described the situation as one of serious concern.

Trump also strongly criticised Iran’s economy, stating that inflation is “massive” and that the country’s economy is “falling apart.” He linked the economic difficulties to broader instability and hardship faced by ordinary citizens.

On the question of diplomacy, the president said he is “not in a hurry” for talks with Tehran to resume. He indicated there is currently no fixed timetable for the restart of negotiations between the United States and Iran.

The comments form part of Trump’s ongoing criticism of the Iranian leadership’s handling of internal dissent and economic challenges. Previous statements from the White House have highlighted concerns over the treatment of protesters and the overall humanitarian situation inside the country.

No immediate official response from Iranian authorities to the latest remarks was reported following the interview.
