Troops of Sector 3, Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), have arrested eight suspected illegal miners in the Yorro Local Government Area of Taraba State.

Military sources confirmed that the suspects were apprehended during an operation conducted around the Banga Dutse area of Yorro LGA.

During the arrest, security personnel recovered several digging implements, including shovels, hoes, bowls, and knives. Additionally, troops confiscated approximately 2kg of unrefined monoxide ore alongside other related items from the scene.

The eight suspects and the recovered exhibits remain in military custody while investigations continue prior to hand-over for prosecution.
