Troops Neutralize Multiple ISWAP Terrorists in Fierce Borno Encounter
Troops of the Nigerian Military operating under Operation Hadin Kai have neutralized several Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists during a heavy gun battle in Borno State.
The engagement occurred when armed insurgents launched an attack targeting a military position, triggering a quick response from deployed ground forces supported by air surveillance units.
During the fierce exchange of gunfire, soldiers successfully repelled the assault, killing multiple terrorists while recovering several weapons, ammunition belts, and operational equipment abandoned by the fleeing fighters.
Military authorities confirmed that while no personnel were killed, a few soldiers sustained varying degrees of injuries during the firefight.
The wounded personnel were promptly evacuated to a military medical facility for treatment, where they are currently receiving care and remain in stable condition.
Following the encounter, military forces launched aggressive search-and-destroy patrols across nearby bush paths and escape corridors to track down remaining elements of the insurgent group.
