Ebonyi Stakeholders Call for Infrastructure Upgrades, Strategic Partnerships to Secure Medical Oxygen Supply
Healthcare practitioners, policy experts, and community stakeholders in Ebonyi State have advocated for enhanced infrastructure investment and cross-sector collaboration to ensure a reliable and sustainable supply of medical oxygen across health facilities.
During a stakeholder consultative meeting in Abakaliki, participants highlighted that consistent medical oxygen availability is vital for reducing child mortality, supporting emergency care, and managing critical respiratory conditions.
Speakers emphasized the need to establish functional oxygen production plants, upgrade storage and distribution systems, and train clinical staff on optimal oxygen therapy protocols.
The stakeholders urged the state government, private healthcare providers, and international development partners to collaborate on funding and logistics solutions that ensure affordable, uninterrupted access to medical oxygen, particularly in rural and underserved health centers across the state.
