GehGeh Questions Peller’s Readiness for Marriage After Bride Price Ceremony

Social media personality, Ojaigho Prosper, popularly known as GehGeh, has criticised TikTok star, Habeeb Hamzat, also known as Peller, over his decision to formalise his relationship with content creator, Elizabeth Aminata, popularly called Jarvis.

Peller announced on Sunday that he had paid Jarvis’ bride price during a family introduction ceremony, marking the completion of the traditional marriage rites between both families.

Sharing a video from the occasion on Instagram, Peller said he was proud to have paid the bride price of the woman he loves.

However, GehGeh, in a post on X, argued that Peller’s financial success should not be the sole basis for supporting his decision to marry.

He said public discussions around the marriage had focused largely on Peller’s ability to provide financially, while overlooking whether the young content creator was mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually prepared for marriage.

GehGeh maintained that marriage required more than financial capacity, insisting that money alone could not determine whether an individual was ready for the responsibilities of a home.

He also expressed frustration that Peller proceeded with the marriage plans despite what he described as his earlier advice.

The social media personality said Peller was still young and had more room for personal development before taking on the responsibilities associated with marriage.

GehGeh further challenged those defending the decision to consider whether they would encourage a younger sibling or relative of similar age to get married.

His comments have added to the debate surrounding Peller’s traditional marriage plans, with some social media users backing the TikTok star on the grounds that he has the financial means to support a family.

The introduction ceremony came weeks after Peller proposed to Jarvis at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana, where she accepted the proposal.
