Fire Razes Building in Osun
A fierce fire outbreak has destroyed a building in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The incident, which was captured in a video circulating online, showed flames engulfing the structure along Gbongon Street as residents looked on helplessly. Emergency responders were quickly called to the scene to bring the situation under control.
The fire, which broke out in the early hours of Monday, razed the building completely before firefighters could arrive. Witnesses reported seeing thick smoke rising from the area as the blaze spread rapidly. The cause of the fire is not yet known, and investigations are expected to begin soon.
No casualties have been reported so far, but property worth millions of naira was lost in the incident. Residents of the Gbongon Street area are counting their losses as they assess the damage. Some neighbours attempted to help put out the fire before the arrival of emergency services, but their efforts were not enough to save the building.
Firefighters from the Osun State Fire Service eventually arrived at the scene and worked to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby buildings. Their quick response helped contain the fire and protect surrounding properties. The team remained on site for several hours to ensure that all hotspots were completely extinguished.
Local authorities have advised residents to be careful and take necessary safety measures to prevent fire outbreaks. They also urged people to keep emergency numbers handy in case of similar incidents. For now, the affected community in Osogbo is left to pick up the pieces while waiting for updates on what caused the devastating fire.
