Married Men Shouldn’t Depend on, be Fed by Their Wives, Warns Pete Edochie
Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has advised married men to avoid circumstances that could leave them dependent on their wives for feeding, warning that such situations could expose them to ridicule and insults.
The 79-year-old actor gave the advice during an appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by content creator, Adebayo Abidemi, popularly known as Isbae U. The episode was published on Saturday.
Edochie, who said he had been married for 57 years, presented his comments as advice drawn from his experience in marriage.
According to him, a man whose wife has to feed him for several days could face severe verbal attacks within the marriage.
He said the level of insults such a man could receive would be so intense that he might become emotionally overwhelmed.
The veteran actor has been married for more than five decades and has built a career spanning several decades in the Nigerian film industry.
During the interview, Edochie also addressed his standing among other actors in Nollywood.
Asked to identify his favourite actor, he declined to name anyone, saying he considered himself to be above his colleagues and therefore did not have a particular actor he regarded as his favourite.
He also dismissed claims by some people that they were older than him in the Nigerian film industry.
Edochie said he had chosen not to engage with such claims, adding that he had no interest in responding to people who described themselves as his contemporaries.
The actor challenged anyone who believed they occupied the same level as him in the industry to openly make the claim.
