23-Year-yOld DELSU Student Emerges 11th Ajeh of Ekwuoma Kingdom

A 23-year-old Microbiology undergraduate of Delta State University, Abraka, Prince Daniel Afamefune Chukwujindu, has been installed as the 11th Ajeh of Ekwuoma Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Chukwujindu, who succeeds his late father, King Chinedu Samuel Chukwujindu, Ezeagu-Ukpo I, was formally enthroned on Friday following the completion of the late monarch’s burial rites.

His emergence followed the traditional succession practice of primogeniture in Ekwuoma, under which the first son of a reigning monarch inherits the throne.

The new monarch will reign as Ezeagu-Ukpo II.

Speaking after his installation, Chukwujindu thanked the people of Ekwuoma for entrusting him with the traditional leadership of the kingdom and pledged to preserve its customs and traditions.

He also promised to promote peace, unity and development within the community.

The young monarch urged the people of Ekwuoma, both at home and in the diaspora, to support the traditional institution and work together towards the progress of the kingdom.

He stressed that cooperation among the traditional institution, government and residents would be necessary to address challenges confronting the community and drive sustainable development.

Chukwujindu succeeds his father, who died on June 2, 2026.
