The Segun Olukitibi Foundation has provided school bags and writing materials to 100 students in Ibadan, Oyo State, as part of efforts to improve access to education among children.

The foundation carried out the initiative on Friday, bringing together students, teachers and parents in a programme aimed at supporting children’s educational needs.

Founder and Project Manager of the foundation, Jesuferanmi Olukitibi, said the intervention was designed to reduce barriers preventing children from accessing educational opportunities.

In a statement made available to our correspondent, Olukitibi said the foundation considered the involvement of parents and teachers essential to achieving lasting improvements in children’s education.

She said the initiative was also aimed at raising awareness and empowering stakeholders involved in the education of children, with the goal of extending its impact to more communities.

As part of the programme, 50 teachers participated in a capacity-building session focused on strengthening their role in supporting students.

The foundation also held a market awareness campaign during which more than 300 parents were sensitised to the importance of education and encouraged to ensure that their children remain in school.

Olukitibi said the foundation hoped the initiative would contribute to creating more equal educational opportunities for children while laying the groundwork for sustainable community impact.
