Nigerian businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has gifted Pastor Jerry Eze a mansion valued at about ₦500 million as a birthday present.

The gesture was announced on Saturday, August 22, 2026, the day the founder of Streams of Joy International and convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations turned 44.

In a video shared on social media, Cubana described the pastor as one of his closest brothers and a consistent intercessor. He recalled that Pastor Jerry had visited one of his real estate sites in January and that he had quietly prayed then to complete and present a house to him by the next birthday.

Although work on the property is still ongoing, Cubana said he was presenting it now as a birthday gift “for the work of God and for the service of mankind.” He wished the cleric a beautiful birthday and asked God to continue to bless him.

The house is expected to be ready by December. Cubana framed the gift as appreciation for years of prayer, support, and spiritual covering rather than a transactional exchange. The two men have maintained a visible public relationship.

Pastor Jerry previously dedicated Cubana’s Cubana Millennium City project in Asaba, and Cubana had earlier given the pastor high-end phones as tokens of gratitude.

The announcement quickly drew mixed reactions. Many praised Cubana’s generosity and pointed to Pastor Jerry’s large online prayer ministry that reaches millions daily. Others questioned the optics of a wealthy businessman giving another well-known figure such a large gift while many Nigerians struggle with daily needs.

Supporters countered that Cubana is free to spend his money as he chooses and that the pastor’s work has impacted countless lives.

Pastor Jerry Eze, born on August 22, 1982, in Umuahia, Abia State, built Streams of Joy International and later launched the NSPPD morning prayer broadcasts that became a global digital phenomenon. Cubana, founder of the Cubana Group, is known for his hospitality and real estate ventures as well as his high-profile philanthropy and social events.

The mansion gift adds another chapter to a friendship that has played out in public over recent years, combining business, faith, and personal appreciation.

The property itself remains under construction, with handover planned for later in the year.
