Adeboye Commends Uzodimma, Aluo Ahead of NNL AGM

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Prince Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has commended Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, and the Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, ahead of the league’s 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Owerri.

Adeboye, who is expected to attend the AGM, praised Governor Uzodimma for his support for football development and for creating an enabling environment for the NNL to hold its annual gathering in Imo State.

He also lauded Aluo for his leadership of the NNL and his efforts toward repositioning the country’s second-tier football competition.

The NNL AGM is expected to bring together club representatives, football administrators and other stakeholders to deliberate on issues concerning the development and administration of the league.

The meeting will also provide an opportunity for stakeholders to review the activities of the league and discuss plans for the forthcoming 2026/2027 season.

Key matters concerning the organisation of the competition, club participation, regulations and measures to improve the standard and competitiveness of the league are expected to form part of the discussions.

Adeboye’s participation is expected to further highlight the importance of grassroots football development and the role of the NNL in providing opportunities for young footballers across the country.

The Owerri meeting is therefore expected to serve as an important platform for stakeholders to assess the progress of the league and chart a stronger direction for its future.
