Standard Chartered, Junior Achievement Nigeria to Train Over 600 Youths in Digital Skills
Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited has partnered with Junior Achievement Nigeria to equip more than 600 young people with critical digital skills.
The collaboration centres on a Digital Bootcamp Programme designed to prepare participants for the fast-changing digital economy.
The 10-day intensive training will take place across Ondo, Abuja, Rivers and Kaduna states. Participants will gain practical skills in project management, data analysis, cybersecurity, UI/UX design, IT support and digital marketing.
The programme targets graduates, National Youth Service Corps members, women and young people from low-income communities. It aims to close skills gaps and improve access to jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities in Nigeria’s growing digital sector.
The initiative aligns with the Standard Chartered Foundation’s focus on youth employability and economic participation. Beyond funding, bank employees will also volunteer through a skills-based programme to mentor participants and share professional expertise.
Junior Achievement Nigeria’s Acting Executive Director, Olaolu Akogun, described the partnership as a shared commitment to building a workforce ready for the digital age. Standard Chartered’s Joke Adu said empowering young people with future-ready skills remains one of the most meaningful investments the bank can make in its communities.
