Adeleke Denies Diverting LG, Pensioners’ Funds, Accuses APC of Blackmail
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has strongly denied claims that his government diverted local government and pensioners’ funds.
In a clear statement, he said he cannot and will never touch money meant for local councils or retirees. The governor described the allegations as false and an attempt to damage his image.
Adeleke pointed out that unlike what he claimed the previous APC administration did, his government has been transparent with public money. He challenged anyone with proof to come forward.
According to him, the accusations are nothing but political blackmail aimed at distracting his administration from delivering good governance.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has reacted angrily to the governor’s comments. The party described Adeleke’s statement as an admission of guilt and a desperate attempt to shift blame.
APC leaders said the governor’s denial is weak and that the people of Osun know the true situation of local government funds and pension payments.
The exchange of words between the governor and the opposition party has created fresh tension in the state. Many residents are now watching closely to see if the matter will lead to any official investigation or further proof from either side.
The issue of local government funds and pensioners’ welfare remains a sensitive topic for many families in Osun.
As the political debate continues, Adeleke has urged the people to ignore what he called “cheap blackmail” and focus on the progress his government is making.
The APC, on the other hand, has promised to keep pressing the issue until the truth is fully revealed. For now, the matter has become another major talking point ahead of future elections in the state.
