Israeli Helicopter Gaza Neighbourhood Strike Leaves 8 Civilians Wounded
At least eight civilians were wounded on Monday when an Israeli Apache helicopter fired a missile at a residential building in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, according to local medical sources.
The strike, which was captured in widely circulated footage, targeted an apartment in the southwestern district of Gaza City before 8:00 p.m. local time.
The wounded, including women and children, were transported to Al-Quds Hospital in the Tel al-Hawa area for treatment. Video footage released by Al Jazeera shows the helicopter launching the missile at an unknown target, with local sources reporting a number of injuries, though no precise death toll has been confirmed.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not issued an official statement regarding the specific strike. The attack is part of a broader escalation in the region, which has included near-daily aerial and ground operations in Gaza despite a ceasefire that took effect in October 2025. On the same day, Iran reportedly launched missiles toward Israeli territory, further heightening regional tensions.
