Heavy Rainfall in Lagos Forces Air Peace to Delay Flights

Air Peace announced on Tuesday that heavy rainfall in Lagos disrupted its operations, leading to delays across parts of its network.

The airline, in a statement signed by spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe and shared on its X handle, explained that adverse weather conditions had made flight rescheduling unavoidable.

“Dear Esteemed Customer, Due to the heavy downpour of rain in Lagos this morning, some flights across our operating networks will be delayed,” the statement read.

The company appealed for patience, stressing that safety remained at the heart of its decisions.

“While weather is beyond our control and safety remains our utmost priority, we appeal for your understanding as we manage the disruptions as best as we can and get you to your destinations safely,” it added.

Reassuring travelers of its commitment, Air Peace emphasized that safety is not just a priority but the airline’s guiding principle.

“At Air Peace, safety is not just a priority but a core commitment. We remain dedicated to upholding the highest safety standards for our passengers and crew. Thank you for your continued trust and support,” the statement concluded.

The delays come a day after the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) reiterated its readiness to sanction airlines that fail to comply with passenger protection regulations.

The NCAA warned carriers against abandoning travelers during cancellations or late-night delays, noting that passengers kept beyond midnight are entitled to hotel accommodation at the airline’s expense.
