FCT Police Confirm Four Fatalities in Violent Carjacking Incident

 

 

 

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have verified a catastrophic vehicular mishap resulting in four fatalities on Wednesday, September 3, along the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway close to Mabushi Underbridge.

 

According to police reports, a grey Toyota Highlander (registration ABJ 206 EC), operated by Emeka Ehekweme and accompanied by his spouse, was intercepted by three unidentified assailants near Berger Junction, Utako.

 

“The culprits forcibly entered the vehicle, instigating a struggle for dominance over the steering wheel,” elucidated Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh.

 

Amidst the altercation, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which collided with a stationary Mazda and subsequently overturned into a bridge support. Emergency personnel confirmed the demise of the driver, his wife, and two of the aggressors upon arrival at the National Hospital.

 

The third assailant is receiving medical care, while the Mazda driver, Suleman Mohammed, escaped with minor injuries.

 

The FCT Police Command is undertaking a meticulous investigation into the occurrence. “The Command extends its condolences to the bereaved families and assures the public of a comprehensive inquiry to ascertain the veracity of the situation,” SP Adeh concluded.
