Super Eagles Hit Full Camp for World Cup Qualifier Against Rwanda

The Super Eagles have reached full strength in camp as they step up preparations for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda this weekend in Uyo.
By Wednesday evening, all 23 invited players had reported for duty at the team’s training base, bringing a sense of relief to head coach Eric Chelle, who now has his complete squad available for tactical work.
Among the late arrivals were striker Victor Osimhen, winger Samuel Chukwueze, and midfielder Raphael Onyedika, joining earlier arrivals such as Tolu Arokodare and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
Training sessions began in earnest at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, where the team engaged in tactical drills, set-piece routines, and fine-tuning of strategies aimed at breaking down Rwanda’s defense.
The atmosphere in camp has been described as focused and determined, with players aware of the high stakes surrounding the fixture.
Nigeria’s position in Group C remains precarious. After six matches, the Super Eagles sit fourth with seven points, behind South Africa at the top with 10 points, and Rwanda and Benin Republic, who each have eight. With only a narrow gap separating the teams, the upcoming double-header against Rwanda in Uyo and South Africa in Bloemfontein could determine Nigeria’s qualification hopes.
For the Super Eagles, victory against Rwanda is seen as non-negotiable. Anything less could leave their path to the 2026 World Cup in serious jeopardy.
With a full squad now in camp, the focus is firmly on translating preparation into results on the pitch.
Fans in Uyo are expected to turn out in large numbers to cheer the team, while millions across the country will be watching closely, hoping the Super Eagles can reignite their qualification campaign and restore confidence in their ability to compete at the highest level.
