Troops Repel Attempted Forward Operating Base Infiltration in Zamfara, Neutralize Dozens, Rescue 9 Hostages
Troops of Sector 1 Joint Task Force, Operation HADARIN DAJI, have successfully repelled an aggressive attempt by armed bandits to infiltrate a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Zamfara State, neutralizing dozens of assailants and rescuing nine kidnapped victims.
The armed bandits launched a surprise assault on the military facility using heavy firepower in an effort to overrun the base and disrupt troop operations in the axis. However, the stationed personnel demonstrated strong tactical resilience, maintaining their defensive positions and engaging the attackers in a fierce firefight that forced the criminal group to retreat with severe casualties.
During the counter-offensive and subsequent pursuit through nearby forest corridors, troops rescued nine civilians who had been held hostage by the bandits. The soldiers also recovered an array of weapons, ammunition, and operational motorcycles left behind by the fleeing insurgents. Security forces have since intensified search-and-destroy operations across the surrounding terrain to eliminate remaining bandit cells and secure the area against potential reprisal attacks.
