Turn Support Into Votes in 2027, Remi Tinubu Urges Cross River APC Women

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged women of the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State to intensify grassroots mobilisation and translate their support into votes for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Tinubu gave the charge on Sunday at an APC Women Strategic Stakeholders’ Meeting held in Calabar, where party leaders and grassroots mobilisers gathered to deliberate on strengthening the party’s structures across the 18 local government areas of the state.

The meeting was organised by the Women Mobilisation Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

According to a statement released by the party and made available to PUNCH Online on Wednesday, the First Lady stressed that political loyalty must be demonstrated through actual votes secured at polling units, not merely through rallies and public declarations.

“Go back to your polling units and gather your people, beginning with your women. Let them begin to canvass, door to door, Church to Church, prayer meeting to prayer meeting, market to market. By your result, we will know who is who,” she said.

She urged the women to embrace unity, love, forgiveness and reconciliation, noting that collective effort would be crucial to securing victory for President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu. She also called for APC votes from top to bottom.

“We must vote APC top to bottom. Don’t confuse our voters. Everyone should vote for APC. Double your mobilisation at this critical time, please,” Tinubu added, assuring them of the party leadership’s support.

Also speaking, the wife of the Cross River State Governor, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, charged APC women to set aside grievances and return to their polling units as foot soldiers for the party. The meeting was attended by Co-Director of Women Mobilisation, Dr Betta Edu, female commissioners, party leaders and other stakeholders.
