Lagos Police Bust Indoor Cannabis Plantation In Apapa, Arrest Two

The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a sophisticated indoor cannabis farm in the Apapa area of the state, arresting a 49-year-old Polish national and a Nigerian man.

According to a statement on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the suspects were identified as Thomas Razvickas, 49, and James Chisome, 36, a Nigerian, both residents of the property where the farm was discovered.

Adebisi said the facility was discovered at a residential property on November 2, at about 08:15 hrs, following credible intelligence received by operatives of the Command.

She said operatives acting on the intelligence searched the premises and uncovered a sophisticated indoor farming facility equipped for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of substances suspected to be cannabis.

The police said the suspects are currently in custody where they have made confessional statements and are providing useful information to aid ongoing investigations into the operation.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, subsequently visited the scene to inspect the facility, assess the extent of the operation and receive a briefing on the investigation.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to tackling drug-related offences and dismantling criminal networks across the state, adding that further investigation is ongoing.
