Iran Mounts Giant Billboards In Tehran Threatening To Kill Donald Trump

Iran has unveiled a massive billboard and banners across Tehran pledging to kill US President Donald Trump, escalating the official anti-American rhetoric displayed in the capital.

The main billboard, towering over the busy Enghelab Square, carries the inscription “We will kill Trump” and depicts the US President behind bars with his head bowed, while another billboard nearby shows Trump alongside US Vice President JD Vance, envoy Steve Witkoff and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with bloodied faces against worn-out American and Israeli flags.

The unveiling on Tuesday comes amid rising tensions following the war that began on February 28 when US-Israeli strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, an incident that triggered calls for revenge across Iran.

Dozens of people gathered at Enghelab Square waving flags and carrying banners with inscriptions such as “There will be blood,” demanding retaliation for the slain leader, while at Tajrish Square in northern Tehran, an open-air exhibition featured paintings mocking Trump, including one showing him bloodied on the ground with a foot pressed on his head.

According to reports, new designs of billboards and displays mocking and vowing revenge against Trump have frequently appeared around Tehran since the conflict began, as Tehran accuses the US President of deliberately targeting civilian sites, including a school and a wedding ceremony.

State-sponsored billboards and murals have been a fixture of Iran’s public spaces since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, used to honour allies, celebrate military figures and send political messages to adversaries, particularly the United States and Israel.

The latest display marks a new level of threatening rhetoric against the US President, coming at a time when intensive diplomatic exchanges are said to be underway and as President Trump faces crucial midterm elections, with the war and its economic impact shaping public discourse.
