LASPEC Sets October 26 Deadline for Online Verification of Pensioners

The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) has directed eligible retirees under the Defined Benefit Scheme to undergo an online verification exercise between October 26 and November 25, 2026.

The exercise covers retired heads of service and permanent secretaries, as well as pensioners under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Civil Service Pension Office (CSPO).

The commission’s Director-General, Babalola Obilana, announced the exercise in a notice, urging all affected pensioners to complete the process before the deadline.

LASPEC said the verification was intended to update pensioners’ records and establish their continued eligibility for benefits under the Defined Benefit Scheme, also known as the Pay-As-You-Go system.

The commission emphasised that the exercise would be conducted entirely online and advised pensioners against visiting its office for verification.

Retired heads of service and permanent secretaries are required to use verify.laspec.gov.ng, while TESCOM pensioners should access verify.tescomlagos.ng. Those under the Civil Service Pension Office are to visit verify.cspo.ng.

According to LASPEC, applicants must log in using their Oracle numbers and surnames before proceeding to the self-service section and following the instructions provided on the respective portals.

The verification process requires pensioners to activate their device cameras to capture photographs for identity confirmation, provide their Bank Verification Number (BVN) or National Identification Number (NIN), update their personal details and complete their next-of-kin information before submitting their records.

The commission urged participants to ensure that all information supplied was accurate and that the process was completed on or before November 25.

For enquiries concerning retired heads of service, permanent secretaries and TESCOM pensioners, LASPEC provided Mrs Morenike Makinde’s contact number, 09053962112.

Pensioners under the Civil Service Pension Office can contact Mrs Alabi Adedamola on 08023064050. Further enquiries may also be sent to info@laspec.gov.ng

Obilana urged all eligible retirees to use the designated online portals and complete the verification within the stipulated period to avoid missing the deadline.
