City Boy Movement DG Links Youth Turnout at Tinubu’s Kaduna Rally to Grassroots Mobilisation
The Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Oluwatosin Shoga, has attributed the high turnout of young people at the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign flag-off in Kaduna to the group’s grassroots mobilisation and public enlightenment activities.
Shoga said the participation of youths at Saturday’s event reflected their interest in Nigeria’s development and their desire to contribute to the country’s political and economic future.
He made the remarks in a reflection titled “Beyond the Road: Unlocking Opportunities, Empowering Young Nigerians, and Building a Prosperous Future,” released on Sunday.
According to him, the movement’s engagements with young people and its street mobilisation activities in Kano contributed to the enthusiasm witnessed at the Kaduna rally held in support of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Shoga said the group’s activities went beyond gathering electoral support for the President, noting that it also sought to educate young Nigerians about government policies and help them identify emerging economic opportunities.
He cited the inauguration of an 81-kilometre section of the Abuja-Kaduna highway during the campaign event as an example of infrastructure development that could stimulate economic activities across the North-West.
The CBM director-general said improved road connectivity along the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano corridor could support agricultural development, industrial growth, regional trade, private investment and job creation.
He added that better transport links could help farmers and traders reach markets more easily while creating opportunities for young entrepreneurs in logistics, manufacturing, food processing and related sectors.
Shoga, however, stressed that road infrastructure alone would not deliver its full economic benefits without improved security, effective intelligence gathering, reliable electricity and policies that encourage investment.
He maintained that combining infrastructure development with adequate security measures would help communities and businesses take advantage of the region’s economic potential.
