Nigeria’s Karibi-George Wins Africa Top Model Title, Secures Miss World Top 40 Spot

Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has earned a place in the Top 40 of the ongoing Miss World competition in Vietnam. She achieved this by winning the Africa Top Model title at the event.

Karibi-George came ahead of contestants from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa during the Top Model competition held at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, themed “Soul of Heritage.” Her victory gave Nigeria an automatic place in the quarter-finals.

She joins other continental winners from the Dominican Republic (Americas and Caribbean), France (Europe) and Vietnam (Asia and Oceania). One of the four continental winners will later be named the overall Top Model and secure a direct place in the Top 20.

The Top 40 will be made up of 10 contestants from each of the four continental groups.

The remaining spots will be decided through challenges such as People’s Choice, Beauty With a Purpose, Head-to-Head and Multimedia.

The 26-year-old from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was crowned Miss World Nigeria on June 6 after competing against 20 finalists in Lagos. A trained communications professional, she founded Beyond Labels, an initiative that supports children with special needs, and previously won Miss Africa International 2024 in Ghana.
