Two people have sustained injuries after a heavy container-laden truck overturned and completely obstructed traffic along the busy Ikorodu Road corridor in Lagos State.

The accident, which occurred during peak transit hours, severely disrupted vehicle movement, leaving motorists stranded in protracted traffic jams along the major highway.

Emergency response teams, including personnel from state traffic management agencies and safety officials, arrived swiftly at the scene to administer first aid to the injured victims and secure the area.

Preliminary reports indicate that the driver lost control of the heavy-duty vehicle, causing the container to detach and crash onto the roadway, hitting nearby vehicles and road infrastructure.

Recovery operatives are actively working with specialized heavy-lift equipment to clear the overturned container and restore normal traffic flow along the affected arterial route.
