Troops Arrest Soldier, Four Suspects in Plateau State Drug Raid
Troops of Operation Safe Haven have arrested a serving soldier alongside four civilian accomplices during a targeted anti-narcotics operation in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The joint tactical team launched the raid following detailed intelligence tracking illicit drug distribution channels operating within the commercial axis of the state capital.
Military personnel raided the designated hideout, apprehending the military personnel and his syndicate while seizing large quantities of illicit substances, including cannabis sativa, tramadol, and other controlled psychotropic materials.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the serving soldier was allegedly utilizing his official status and access to facilitate the transportation and distribution of illicit drugs for the criminal network.
The military command confirmed that all five suspects have been taken into custody for joint profiling, after which the soldier will face military disciplinary proceedings while the civilian suspects will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for prosecution.
