The Osun State Government has strongly rejected claims by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that N11 billion was mismanaged or looted from state accounts, describing the anti-graft agency’s position as baseless and politically motivated.

Addressing the media, the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, clarified that no public funds were diverted into private or suspicious corporate accounts as alleged by the commission.

The commissioner explained that all financial disbursements made by the state government followed due process, public procurement guidelines, and established administrative approvals for ongoing infrastructure projects and state obligations.

He further accused the anti-graft agency of orchestrating a deliberate campaign to paralyze state operations and score political points ahead of the upcoming August 15 governorship election in the state.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to transparency, the state government declared its readiness to challenge the EFCC’s account freezing order in court, maintaining that public funds remain intact and fully accounted for.
