The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has dismissed claims by the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Peter Obi, that President Bola Tinubu is fatigued and should not seek another term in office.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Yilwatda said the President remains actively engaged in the affairs of government, insisting that his daily work routine reflects his commitment to national leadership.

The APC chairman questioned the basis of Obi’s remarks, arguing that the office of the President requires effective leadership and decision-making rather than physical endurance.

According to him, President Tinubu maintains a demanding work schedule from morning until late at night, a reflection, he said, of the administration’s dedication to implementing its programmes and policies.

Yilwatda also argued that many Nigerians benefiting from key government initiatives would not support suggestions that the President should step aside.

He cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), saying students and other beneficiaries of the scheme continue to appreciate the administration’s interventions.

The APC chairman further pointed to several ongoing infrastructure projects as evidence of the government’s commitment to development.

He listed the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the construction and expansion of seaports in Calabar, Akwa Ibom, Port Harcourt, Ondo and Lagos among projects being executed under the Tinubu administration.

Yilwatda also referenced ongoing airport rehabilitation and upgrade projects across the country, describing them as further proof of the government’s efforts to improve critical infrastructure and stimulate economic growth.

He maintained that the administration remains focused on delivering its development agenda and dismissed assertions that President Tinubu is no longer fit to continue leading the country.
