Whitemoney Laments Nigeria’s Constant Billing Dating Culture

Reality TV star and musician, Hazel Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has expressed frustration over what he described as the current dating culture in Nigeria.

The Big Brother Naija Season Six winner, who recently turned 34, shared his thoughts in a video posted on his Instagram page. He humorously asked fans for a “referral code” to help him find a compatible partner amid the challenges he faces in relationships.

Whitemoney noted that any small interaction, such as a simple hello or asking how someone is doing, often leads to financial demands or “billing.”

He said the situation has made dating increasingly difficult for him as he gets older. His light-hearted complaint quickly drew reactions from fans online, with some agreeing that dating has become more transactional while others teased him about his choice of partners.

The entertainer, who rose to fame after winning the popular reality show in 2021, has remained active in music and entertainment. His comments have sparked conversations about modern relationships in Nigeria, with many sharing their own experiences of financial expectations in dating.

While some view it as a sign of changing times, others believe it reflects deeper societal issues around money and relationships.

Whitemoney’s video has generated a mix of amusement and serious discussion among his followers. The reality star’s openness about his personal struggles has resonated with many young people navigating similar challenges in their love lives.

His humorous approach to the topic has made it more relatable to a wide audience.

As the conversation continues online, Whitemoney’s remarks have highlighted the complexities of dating in contemporary Nigeria. Many are calling for a return to more genuine connections rather than relationships driven by financial expectations.

The entertainer’s candid admission has once again shown his willingness to speak openly about issues affecting his generation.
