“It’s About Who You’re With” as Iyabo Ojo Speaks on Sex and Happiness in Marriage
Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has said that an active sex life plays a major role in a woman’s radiant appearance and confidence, opening up about her personal life, motherhood, and career during a candid Monday appearance on The Morayo Show.
Speaking on what she believes keeps women looking youthful, Ojo said happiness isn’t tied to marital status but rather to the quality of the relationship a woman finds herself in. She noted that both single and married women can be happy, insisting it depends largely on the partner involved.
The actress went on to credit an active intimate life as a key contributor to a woman’s glow, adding that she personally gets more than enough of it.
Beyond the headline-grabbing comment, Ojo used the appearance to reflect more broadly on her journey as a single mother, describing the experience of raising her children and watching them thrive as one of her proudest achievements. She also spoke about her recent trip to Canada, where she carried out the traditional omugwo, a period of postnatal care and support, for her daughter Priscilla Ojo following the birth of her grandson.
The actress’s remarks come on the heels of an earlier interview in which she explained her decision to give her ex-husband a prominent role during Priscilla’s high-profile 2025 wedding to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux. Ojo said she deliberately set aside her personal differences with her former husband so their past separation would not spill over into their daughter’s big day, stressing that whatever existed between the two of them should never be transferred onto their children. Priscilla and Juma Jux welcomed their first child, a son named Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, in Canada in August 2025, months after their widely publicised wedding celebrations across Nigeria and Tanzania.
