Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship aspirant, Dumo Lulu-Briggs has emerged as the party’s candidate for the next governorship election in Rivers State following the conclusion of the party’s primary election.

Lulu-Briggs secured the nomination after the primaries were conducted across the state. The businessman was affirmed by party members in his Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, where he said no other aspirant contested against him.

Speaking after the exercise, Lulu-Briggs described the primary election as peaceful and orderly, commending party members for their conduct throughout the process. He expressed appreciation to delegates, stakeholders and supporters for their confidence in his candidacy.

According to him, the exercise reflected the democratic values of the party and demonstrated unity among its members.

The governorship hopeful also thanked God for the successful outcome of the process and pledged to remain committed to serving the people of Rivers State.

Lulu-Briggs said he would await the official confirmation and final announcement from the leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress while preparing for the next phase of the electoral process.

His emergence positions him as the NDC’s flag bearer in the race for the Rivers State governorship election.
