Oyo Police Begin Forensic Analysis of Abduction Video, Assure Safe Rescue of Victims

The Oyo State Police Command has begun forensic analysis of a viral video linked to a recent abduction incident in the state as part of ongoing efforts to rescue the victims and apprehend those responsible.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Command said the footage circulating across different media platforms is undergoing detailed examination to verify its authenticity and support ongoing investigations, rescue operations, and the identification of the kidnappers.

The police assured residents that intensive intelligence-driven and tactical operations, being carried out in collaboration with other security agencies, are ongoing to ensure the abducted persons are rescued unharmed and reunited with their families.

According to the statement, the Command remains fully committed to restoring normalcy and bringing every individual connected to the crime to justice.

The police also appealed to residents of Oyo State to remain calm, law-abiding, and supportive of security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could aid the investigation and rescue mission.

The Command further warned against the circulation of unverified information and misleading content capable of creating panic or escalating tension, noting that such situations are often exploited by criminal elements to further destabilise public peace.

Residents with useful information relating to the incident were advised to contact the appropriate authorities or the nearest security agency immediately.

For emergencies, the Command urged members of the public to contact the Oyo State Call Response Centre via the toll-free line 615, or reach the Police Control Room through 08081768614 and 07055495413.
