Mutfwang Felicitates Christians at Easter, Urges Prayers for Plateau

The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has extended Easter greetings to Christians worldwide, describing the season as a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and a symbol of triumph over sin and death.

In a statement issued through his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor said Easter represents the core of the Christian faith, anchored on the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the redemption of humanity.

Mutfwang noted that the occasion goes beyond a religious observance, stressing that it offers believers an opportunity to reflect on the significance of Christ’s sacrifice and the promise of eternal life. He added that the resurrection underscores hope, spiritual renewal and salvation for all faithful.

The governor urged Christians to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross, noting that it brought forgiveness and victory over sin, despair and life’s challenges.

He also praised Christians for their dedication during the Lenten season, encouraging them to sustain the values of self-discipline, spiritual development and closer fellowship with God.

Mutfwang further called on residents of the state to offer prayers for peace, particularly for families affected by the Angwan Rukuba incident which resulted in loss of lives. He appealed for prayers for leaders, communities, and the nation, seeking divine healing, unity and progress.

Expressing optimism about the future of the state, the governor said Plateau would overcome its present difficulties through God’s grace. He urged citizens to embrace unity and collective responsibility in tackling insecurity while remaining committed to rebuilding the state for sustainable development.
