Senator Kabiru Marafa Joins the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara State
Senator Kabiru Marafa, a former senator representing Zamfara Central, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara State.
This marks a major shift in his political career. Marafa, who played a key role in the 2023 presidential campaign, left his former party after facing serious internal issues. Many of his loyal supporters have also moved with him to the new party.
Marafa resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) a few months ago. He cited problems such as political manipulation and unfair treatment within the party. Despite strong support from Zamfara during the last election, he felt the state was neglected by the central government.
After careful discussions with his allies, he decided the ADC offered a better path for progress.
The ADC in Zamfara warmly welcomed Marafa and his large group of followers. Party leaders described the move as a positive development that would strengthen the party. They believe it will help build a united team ahead of future elections, particularly in 2027.
In his statement, Marafa encouraged the people of Zamfara to register with the ADC in large numbers. He called the party a platform for genuine change, better leadership, and honest governance. He also warned against attempts to create confusion in opposition parties and urged everyone to stay focused on the state’s development.
This development is expected to boost the ADC in Zamfara, even as the party faces some internal leadership challenges. Marafa plans to hold a major rally of supporters in Gusau, the state capital. His switch highlights how quickly politics can change in Nigeria as leaders seek parties that better match their vision for fairness and growth.
