Adams Ends Goal Drought as Valencia Edge Alaves in Dramatic La Liga Clash
Akor Adams ended his five-game goal drought in La Liga as Sevilla FC were held to a 1–1 draw by Rayo Vallecano.
The Nigerian forward put Sevilla ahead in the 13th minute with a well-taken finish, marking his first league goal in five matches. However, Rayo Vallecano equalised shortly after the break when Alvaro Espino struck in the 50th minute to earn the visitors a point.
Elsewhere, Valencia CF claimed a dramatic 3–2 victory over Deportivo Alaves in a chaotic encounter that produced two late red cards.
Alaves took an early lead through Lucas Boye, who converted a third-minute penalty. Valencia responded after the break with Javi Guerra equalising in the 47th minute before Boye restored Alaves’ advantage in the 71st minute.
The match turned dramatically in the closing stages as Eray Comert levelled for Valencia in the 90th minute. Alaves were then reduced to nine men after late red cards for Ander Guevara and Fernando Pacheco, and Valencia capitalised when Hugo Duro converted a stoppage-time penalty to seal the win.
In other matches, Villarreal CF defeated Elche CF 2–1 with first-half goals from Tajon Buchanan and Santiago Mourino, while Andre Silva pulled one back late for Elche.
Getafe CF also secured a 2–0 victory over Real Betis, thanks to goals from Kiko Femenia and Martin Satriano in the first half.
