‎300 level Student Commits Suicide in Niger

‎A 300-level Computer Science student at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, in Niger State, has tragically ended his own life.

‎The student, identified as Kelvin Danlami, was discovered on Monday evening in his off-campus hostel located in Lapai town.

‎The discovery was made when Danlami was found hanging from the ceiling of his room. Reports indicate that the deceased did not leave a suicide note, leaving the motive behind the tragic incident currently unknown to his family and the university community.

‎Following the discovery, the student’s remains were removed from the hostel and deposited at the General Hospital mortuary in Lapai.

‎ The university authorities and local law enforcement are expected to carry out further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.

‎The Public Relations Officer of the university, Mr. Baba Akote, confirmed the incident to the press. He stated that the school management is planning to meet regarding the matter and will release an official statement once their internal deliberations are concluded.

‎In a statement, the Secretary General of the Student Union Government (SUG), Mr. Aliyu Abubakar, described the event as a “sad and painful loss.” He extended heartfelt condolences to Danlami’s family and friends, noting that his passing is a tragedy for both the Department of Computer Science and the entire university community.
