Nigeria Retains 38th Spot in Latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings
Nigeria’s Super Eagles have maintained their standing in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings, remaining 38th globally in the December 2025 edition released on Monday.
The team’s position was unchanged following a quiet period without competitive international fixtures, allowing Nigeria to retain its previous points total of 1,502 recorded in November.
On the African continent, Nigeria continues to rank fifth, trailing Morocco, Senegal, Egypt and Algeria. Morocco remains the leading African nation on the global list, placed 11th worldwide, while Senegal follows at 19th.
Algeria and Egypt are positioned just ahead of Nigeria, occupying 34th and 35th places respectively, with the Super Eagles next in line at 38th.
Rounding off Africa’s top 10 are Tunisia, ranked 41st globally, Côte d’Ivoire in 42nd place, Mali at 53rd, DR Congo at 56th and Cameroon at 57th, underscoring the strong continental competition reflected in the latest FIFA assessment.
