Obedient Movement Leader Urges South-East to Support Tinubu in 2027

The South-East leader of the Obedient Movement and Obedient General, Ikenna Azomchine, has called on Ndigbo in the region to vote massively for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

He said the move would help attract more development to the South-East.

Azomchine made the appeal after touring villages in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. He argued that the region has seen infrastructural projects and appointments under the current administration and that remaining outside mainstream politics would not serve Igbo interests.

He explained that he had spent years in opposition but now believes aligning with the government at the centre offers a better path for the South-East to eventually produce a president of Igbo extraction.

Azomchine said the Obedient Movement is currently mobilising across the region to secure support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

He described the president as a detribalised leader who has responded to earlier criticisms and urged Ndigbo to join mainstream politics rather than isolate themselves.

A member of the group, Engineer Azubuike Chine, also expressed support, citing developments at the grassroots and the need for continued engagement with the centre.
