Kwara Police Debunk Reports of Female Officer’s Kidnapping, Murder

The Kwara State Police Command has officially dismissed reports claiming that a female police officer in the state was abducted and murdered.

In a statement released on Saturday in Ilorin, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, described the claims as “entirely false, and deeply distressing to members of the public.”

The police unequivocally stated that the reports are not only false but are also misleading and intended to cause panic within the state.

The Command advised the public to disregard the information, emphasizing that no female police officer is reported missing or abducted in any division in Kwara State.

The statement further corrected a specific detail in the rumor: “There is no Ogidi police Division in Kwara State.” It warned that spreading such misinformation is harmful to reputations and distressing to the people of the state.

The Kwara State Police Command, under CP Adekimi Ojo, assured the public of its commitment to protecting lives and property and maintaining peace, stating that it is cooperating fully with other security agencies.

The Command urged the public and media outlets to stop sharing unverified or sensationalized information that could cause unnecessary panic or damage the state’s reputation.
